You can learn all about environmental issues expected in the 2016 session of the Virginia General Assembly at the Virginia Conservation Network's General Assembly Preview. Experts will address issues like the Clean Power Plan, the Clean Water Rule and the Virginia Coastal Protection Act.
This annual event will be on Saturday, December 5, 2015; 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; Virginia Commonwealth University's Student Commons; $35.00.
The keynote speaker will be Arlington Delegate Alfonso Lopez, Chairman of the bipartisan Virginia Environment and Renewable Energy Caucus. Sponsors will serve a lunch buffet and distribute the Environmental Briefing Book.
In 2015, among other issues, ASNV weighed in on bills that encourage "community cats," also called "feral cats," "cat colonies" and "unowned cats." Delegate Kay Kory, sponsor of one of the bills in the House of Delegates last year has told ASNV that she will not introduce cat legislation in 2016. Others are likely to, however, Assembly observers say.
