Tim Beatley to Speak on Biophilic Communities

Join us Thursday May 18th, 2017 at 7:00pm to hear Timothy Beatley talk about the role of nature in cities and what he calls "biophilic" communities. Beatley will discuss the critical function of nature in promoting human well-being and providing emotional connection to nature. He regards Reston as a biophilic community.

Professor Beatley is the author of numerous books, including Biophilic Cities and Native to Nowhere: Sustaining Home and Community in the Global Age. His most recent publication is a Handbook of Biophilic City Planning and Design The program will be held in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery at Reston Community Center Lake Anne.
