Marches for the Environment

The People’s Climate March will take place in Washington, D. C., on April 29, 9 a.m.  Organizations and people from all over the U.S. will unite to demand meaningful climate action. According to the Sierra Club, “the People's Climate Movement began in September 2014 on the eve of the United Nations Climate Summit when 400,000 people marched in New York City calling for climate action. It was the largest climate march in history and brought together hundreds of organizations focused on climate justice, as well as economic and social justice. Over the past two years, the movement has been picking up steam, built on the core principle that people from every walk of life should be represented.”

The Sierra Club has arranged for a bus to leave from (and return to) Reston, VA. If you are interested in this free transportation, reserve your seat on Eventbrite. Questions? Contact Helene Shore at
